Job Title: HR Officer

Our client is a worldwide business with a 127 year history, operating in over 35 countries.  They provide expert advice and consultancy services to the mineral and metal industries.  Due to ongoing growth, they now need to recruit an HR professional on a 12 month contract to support their HR Manager. The role is very varied and will cover the following duties:

1.      Review existing polices and update them. Draft new policies were necessary.
2.      Review personnel files to update and ensure that all essential information is held
3.      Review induction procedure. Make suggestions for improvements.
4.      Review training procedures and records
5.      Manage and plan training for new employees
6.      Review employee handbook
7.      Train managers and supervisors in managing staff and disciplinary matters
8.      Provide HR services to remote sites in Scotland and Doncaster
9.      Draft job descriptions for all staff
10.     Develop systems for the reporting of staff information from the overseas subsidiaries.
11.     Interviewing and recruiting staff
12.     Develop a system for checking new employees references.
